ExperienceI earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree from Cornell University. My degrees are in Animal Science and Teaching in Science, respectively. My true passion is riding horses, and I have had extensive training for competition. I had the chance to teach younger students how to ride while reaching my own riding goals. I got a position in sales and marketing of equestrian products, but realized that I really wanted to be teaching. I've started tutoring in addition to giving riding lessons, and thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to inspire my students and be inspired by them. The subjects I tutor include Mathematics at the elementary and middle school levels, elementary Science, Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Ecology, and test prep. I love science the most, especially Biology and Chemistry. It is easy to demonstrate how these subjects apply to real life on a daily basis, which I find fascinating. My tutoring philosophy focuses on inquiry, meaning that students are continually asking their own questions and looking at a problem from different angles, rather than just finding a set answer. This encourages them to go deeper into the subject. Besides horseback riding, my hobbies include yoga, reading, tennis, and cooking.
